Weather and your Gown
Shooting real couples with no experience in having professional photos taken may not be aware of some important factors. Such a clothing, location, preparation, weather and creativity. As a photographer I have realized when my clients prepare for their photo shoots they have amazing photos and the sessions run smoother.
The weather plays a major role in your outdoor photography. Make sure to check the weather! Have a plan b for rainy days or cool temperatures. Oftentimes brides and grooms have their special outfits planned but don't consider the long heavy wedding gown in 100 degree summer heat. Bring hankies or towels and for ladies, tissue to blot sweat. Do the majority of your makeup before your photo session, but bring the essentials to retouch. If you are set on a summer wedding consider the evening, it is cooler and the city lights or candles can be very romantic.
Getting great shots sometimes means traveling to beautiful locations. Figure out transportation ahead of time! Big cities need advanced notice for any parties over 2 people. (Looking to elope soon and need help? Check out our packages here).
When considering where to elope, take pictures or host a gathering; think outside of the box, don't always choose the restaurant that every tourist goes to... some of the best restaurants in a city are off the beaten path that locals favor. Ask friends or locals for suggestions before booking.
Have some fun with your photo shoots. Most photos will be romantic and glam but consider a few fun shots by incorporating your accessories to match the cities culture/theme.
