TOP TIPS TO PLAN A WEDDING AWAY FROM HOME

Top tips to plan a wedding away from home. #Eloping #NOLA #DestinationWedding
What is more exciting than dashing away to have a destination wedding? Nothing is coming to mind for me either!

It's romantic, adventurous, and down right appealing.

So, let's say you've closed your eyes and touched the map and decided on eloping in New Orleans (NOLA), or you have visited our slice of the world and thought, "wow, this would be an amazing destination wedding spot!"  (We couldn't agree more)

There are a lot of things that may kill the buzz and ruin your love high that need to be considered first, but are totally adaptable to on the fly 'Celebrations of Love.'

Here are top tips to plan a wedding away from home.

Before you read any further, if you would like to find something all inclusive check out these destination packages that take care of all of the major details.  All you have to do is show up with your attire and fiancé!  If this sounds like your kind of planning take a look at this All-Inclusive Destination Wedding Package.

Otherwise check out our tips!

Tip #1 - Venue - Choose your venue with attention and care.

Ask if your wedding dates and times are available, if they book multiple weddings per day, how many hours you receive and if it includes setup/clean up, payment rates, payment options, deposit, hidden costs and their cancelation policy.  Never be afraid to ask for a discount!

Tip #2 - Legal Documentation

Start this process as soon as possible. At least a week ahead of time. But... If you are caught up in love and passion and eloping is a last minute decision you can always book with Ibay Photography and get help navigating the documentation process and circumvent the 72 hour wait.

Tip #3 - Wedding Attire

Spur of the moment eloping doesn't leave much time to find the perfect wedding dress, shoes, tux/suit and rings.  I suggest you purchase them from your home town before whisking away on your destination wedding.  It will save you money and time considering you'll be savvy about comfortable price ranges and store locations.

Tip #4 - Be Flexible

The thing I admire most about couples who elope is the certainty and sincerity.  In that moment couples display courageous hope and fearless commitment to each other and the relationship. The details of how they are married matter less than the details of spending their lives together.  They look forward to their days united instead of getting caught up on creating a wonderful moment. It really is admirable.

And that's why I am sure that you won't even bat an eye at the word; compromise. Bring it on!

Tip #5 - Hire a Photographer

Your wedding photos are the only lasting memory you will have of the day.  You will want photos to mark such a life-changing moment. Professional photographers are important.  Check for reviews, styles, prices, portfolio and availability.

Destination Elopements are amazing and we love to work with couples to make their day as beautiful and memorable as possible.  Leave the details to the pros by checking out our all-inclusive packages.
